On September 26, 2018, the Bradford-Tioga Head Start, Inc. Board of Directors kicked off the Annual Campaign.  The Board has committed to having 100% of Board participation in financial giving for the 2018-19 year.

Bradford-Tioga Head Start, Inc. is in its fifth year of supporting an Annual Campaign.  There are many ways to make a donation to Bradford-Tioga Head Start, Inc. and the Board of Directors acknowledges that its first goal is to build a Rainy Day Fund to support unfunded mandates by regulatory agencies and to be financially stable to cover expenses when the governmental funds may not be released on a timely basis.

Cash gifts are the simplest form of giving and are made to meet areas of immediate need, to memorialize or honor an individual or to participate in the program's annual giving campaign.  Restricted cash gifts are often used to support specific items for the program, usually agreed upon with the Executive Director.  Giving stocks, bonds or other securities is a common method of charitable giving.  Donors may see a deduction in their income tax and also may avoid capital gains. There is always the opportunity to name Bradford-Tioga Head Start, Inc. as a recipient of money, property, securities, or other items in a will; contacting your attorney to coordinate this is the best way to plan.

Some examples of how annual giving has been used by Bradford-Tioga Head Start, Inc. include the purchasing books, supplies, and playgrounds; funding field trips, events, staff training; holding special events for children and families; and coordinating a health fair for families.

Operating a non-profit program is a challenge.  Although much of the funding to operate Bradford-Tioga Head Start, Inc. is awarded through governmental grants, unexpected needs always arise.  Having access to non-governmental funds allows the program to sometimes just meet everyday expenses and sometimes to offer the extras for children, families, the community, and staff.  Please consider making a donation by calling 570-638-1400, Extension 102 or visiting our website at www.bradfordtiogahs.org.

Bradford-Tioga Head Start, Inc. is a program that offers state and federally funded programs for pregnant mothers, families and their children, newborn up to the age of 5; this includes Early Head Start, Head Start, and Pre-K Counts services. The program provides services for income eligible children, many from low income families, including those with disabilities.  Its mission To provide exceptional, educational opportunities and high quality, supportive services which empower children and families to grow and thrive.   For more information call 570-638-1400, visit www.bradfordtiogahs.org or find us on Facebook
