First Citizens Community Bank Fills more than Pumpkins!

Today’s businesses want to make a difference in their communities by giving back. The benefits of this can be numerous, both to the business and to the organization.

For the month of October, Nora Saile, a Customer Service Representative at First Citizens Community Bank in Wellsboro, organized a “Fill the Pumpkins” drive to collect donations of art supplies for the Wellsboro Head Start Center. Plastic pumpkins were placed throughout the bank and customers were encouraged to donate.

On October 31, the Wellsboro Head Start class marched in a parade down the streets of Wellsboro to the bank. Children played percussion instruments and wore animal masks. “We took our parade inside to serenade the employees and customers”, said Kelly Shaffer, Wellsboro Head Start teacher. “Office manager, Deb Cram, bank employees and bank patrons were delighted to see the children. And the children were so excited to perform”.

The art supplies mean so much to the Head Start class. They all love to create at the art table during Choice Time so the supplies provided from this drive will definitely be put to good use!  Many thanks to the Wellsboro branch of First Citizens Community Bank and its patrons, for you have filled more than just pumpkins, you have shown the children what it means to be part of a community.
