Bradford Tioga Head Start Celebrates “Thank You” Month

Additional Thank You Month Photos

Thank you to the East Canton United Methodist Church ladies. They made each child in the Canton 2 class a quilt for Christmas. We read the story Bear Snores On to show bear receiving a quilt for Christmas and then we followed up with Bear Says Thanks. The children decided we should thank the ladies for making and giving us quilts. They each made a square on the thank you card for the ladies.

Wellsboro Head Start made a big thank you card for First Citizens Bank to thank them for all of our wonderful art supplies!

The Canton 2 class made a field trip to the art room in the Canton Elementary school. Art teacher, Miss Grieve invited the class to explore all sorts of medium. They experimented with paint, color mixing, rollers, clay and snow dough. The children loved wearing the big t-shirts as art aprons and washing their hands in the big sink. Miss Grieve even read a story to the children. The students wanted to make Miss Grieve pictures to thank her for letting them visit her classroom. The pictures were made into a thank you book for her. They look forward to another visit!

The children at the East Smithfield center have been pretty rough on some of our toys, but they are lucky to have Mr. Adams and Mr. Zimmer.  This year, Mr. Adams has fixed a piece of wooden doll house furniture, a wooden drum, a wooden hammer, a wooden dump truck,  and our rocking boat.  Mr. Zimmer fixed our dramatic play telephone and our baby crib.  We wrote them notes and drew pictures to show our appreciation.

The children and staff are pictured wearing their bracelets that were purchased to help support Nicholas Wivell's family and his fight against childhood cancer. We were so very thankful to have had "Little Nick" in our classroom.
