Canton 1 Head Start Classroom Performs Play

Throughout the month of December, children enrolled in the Canton 1 class of Bradford Tioga Head Start have been studying bears, hibernation, and how other animals survive during the winter. As part of the lesson, teacher Jena Miller read the story “Bear Snores On” to the children. The story tells about a bear who settles down for hibernation and sleeps as several animals join him in his cave to keep warm for the winter. The children really enjoyed the story! In fact, the enjoyed it so much that the class decided to turn it into a play to share with their parents and family. They created their own head bands with help from their teachers and worked hard practicing how to retell the story of Bear Snores On.

The play was performed on December 16th during the monthly parent activity day. It was a huge hit with parents!
