February Head Start Highlight

Mansfield 1 Center

The following staff work at Mansfield 1 Center:

-       Kristen Post – Teacher

-       Gena McGurk  – Teacher Aide

-       Chrissy Davenport – Classroom Aide/Bus Monitor

-       Jody Tice – Family Advocate

-       Marvin Hall – Bus Driver

Mansfield 1 are very organized in their daily planning; the children know the routine and will remind staff if things are forgotten.  Staff are aware of individual needs and temperaments of the children and have a special way of ensuring the children have an enjoyable experience every day.  Mr. Marvin opens his bus door with a big smile, greeting every child onto his “Cool Bus.”

In addition to new Creative Curriculum Studies, the children are enjoying the Healthy Kids Club activities with Miss Heather.  Parent participation with the 100th day of school was evident with all of the items the families used with their children.  One was a school of gummy fish!

Staff are also working on accomplishments!  Kristen continues to work towards her master’s degree.  She is currently enrolled in a course in the advanced study of autism.  Chrissy has completed course work requirements through CDACLASS.ORG and is in the process of completing her CDA application.

Education Supervisor, Joyce Fleming says,
“The children in Mansfield 1 are very inviting and always acknowledge an experience from my prior visit.  They are a strong community of learners that take care of each other and their Teachers.”

Great job Mansfield 1 – keep up the good work!
